(PIA file photo)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>MANILA<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 The fight against the prevailing coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) pandemic is not a sprint but a marathon that calls for endurance, Health Secretary Francisco Duque III reminded the city officials of Pasay.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cLimang buwan na po nating binubuno ang problema natin sa<\/em>\u00a0Covid-19.\u00a0<em>Ito na talaga ang itsura ng laban natin. Ito\u2019y hindi na sprint, marathon na ito. Patatagan po ang laban dito kaya kinakailangan talagang maging matatag po tayong lahat<\/em>\u00a0(We have been fighting this problem with Covid-19 for five months. This is really the kind of war that we have. It\u2019s not a sprint, this is a marathon. It requires endurance and that\u2019s why we all have to be stable),\u201d Duque said during the Covid-19 Coordinated Operations to Defeat Epidemic (CODE) meeting with Pasay City\u2019s Task Force Covid on August 7.<\/p>\n<p>Duque advised the local officials to keep healthy as the country continues to grapples with coronavirus that has so far infected 129,913 in the country.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cAlam kong nakakapagod<\/em>\u00a0(I know it&#8217;s tiring), but we just have to recharge, re-energize, reconvene, review the plans, narrow them down, then execute,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The coordination meeting with the Pasay City\u2019s Task Force Covid is part of the National Task Force\u2019s CODE initiative that demonstrates active case finding strategies for the prevention and elimination of clusters. \u201cActive case finding\u201d means systematic screening and clinical evaluation of patients in the community.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cSa<\/em>\u00a0CODE,\u00a0<em>kapit-bisig po ang<\/em>\u00a0national and local governments,\u00a0<em>sa pangunguna ng<\/em>\u00a0local chief executives,<em>\u00a0sa pag-durog ng<\/em>\u00a0clusters (Through CODE, national and local governments are united &#8212; lead by local chief executives &#8212; in crushing clusters),\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cTayo po ay magba-bahay-bahay, sa pangunguna ng isang<\/em>\u00a0(We will visit house-to-house lead by our) healthcare worker &#8212; do house-to-house symptom check, immediate isolation\u00a0<em>ng mga may sakit o sintomas<\/em>\u00a0(of those with symptoms), and massive targeted testing\u00a0<em>kung saan ang<\/em>\u00a0swabbing\u00a0<em>ay ating isasagawa sa<\/em>\u00a0community\u00a0<em>na rin mismo<\/em>\u00a0(where swabbing will be held within the community),\u201d Duque explained.<\/p>\n<p>He also urged everyone to adopt BIDA\u00a0<em>solusyon<\/em>! (B-<em>awal walang<\/em>\u00a0mask, I-sanitize<em>\u00a0ang kamay<\/em>, D-<em>uminstansya at<\/em>\u00a0A-<em>lamin ang tamang impormasyon!<\/em>) [BIDA solution! B \u2013 not wearing mask is not allowed, I \u2013 sanitize your hands, D \u2013 distance, and A \u2013 know the right information].<\/p>\n<p>Duque said BIDA is the simplest yet proven measures to protect oneself from getting infected with coronavirus.<\/p>\n<p>During the CODE meeting, Mayor Imelda G.
