(PCI photo)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>MANILA<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013\u00a0The Department of Health (DOH) reported a total of 3,379 confirmed cases of the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) on Friday, bringing the country\u2019s total at 122,754.<\/p>\n<p>In its daily Covid-19 bulletin, the DOH said the new cases bring the country\u2019s total active cases to 53,734 \u2014 net of Covid-19 deaths and recoveries.<\/p>\n<p>Currently, it said the majority of active cases, at 91.4 percent, exhibit mild symptoms of the disease, followed by those showing no symptoms or asymptomatic at 7.3 percent, severe cases at 0.7 percent, and critical cases at 0.5 percent.<\/p>\n<p>Of the new cases, the National Capital Region (NCR) remains on top of the list with 1,846 new cases, followed by Rizal with 314, Laguna with 276, Cavite with 145, and Quezon with 66.<\/p>\n<p>It reported 96 new recoveries, bringing the country\u2019s total to 66,852.<\/p>\n<p>It also reported 24 deaths, bringing the country\u2019s Covid-19 casualties to 2,168.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the DOH reported that as of Thursday, a little more than 50 percent of the country\u2019s total beds for Covid-19 cases are occupied.<\/p>\n<p>In particular, it said the country\u2019s total of 1,400 beds at intensive care units (ICU) are 54 percent occupied, isolation beds at 11,500 are 50 percent occupied, while ward beds at 4,100 are 53 percent occupied.<\/p>\n<p>The country\u2019s ventilators currently total at 2,100 units \u2014 29 percent of which is currently in use.<\/p>\n<p>However, the availability of Covid-19 beds in NCR is nearing critical levels \u2014 73 percent of the region\u2019s 546 ICU beds are currently occupied, 76 percent of 3,600 isolation beds are occupied, while 86 percent of 1,600 ward beds are in use.<\/p>\n<p>NCR\u2019s total ventilator units are currently at 831 with a 46 percent utilization rate.<\/p>\n<p>Another region reaching critical levels of bed occupancy is Region 4A or Calabarzon, with its 175 ICU beds at 67 percent occupancy, 1,400 isolation beds at 60 percent occupancy, and 495 wards at 67 percent occupancy.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, Calabarzon currently has 262 ventilators, of which 31 percent are in use.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>MANILA\u00a0\u2013\u00a0The Department of Health (DOH) reported a total of 3,379 confirmed cases of the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) on Friday, &hellip;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":44,"featured_media":261408,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[1482,16,95],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-264470","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-breaking","category-news","category-news-ph","mauthors-raymond-carl-dela-cruz","mauthors-philippine-news-agency"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/264470","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/44"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=264470"}],"version-history":[{"count":1,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/264470\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":264471,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/264470\/revisions\/264471"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/261408"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=264470"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=264470"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=264470"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
