Photo by <a href=\"https:\/\/flic.kr\/p\/6CzWT5\" target=\"_blank\">Chris Tostevin-Hall<\/a> \/ Flickr.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>MOOSE JAW, Sask.\u2014Prince Edward, the Earl of Wessex, has launched a three-day visit to Saskatchewan.<\/p>\n<p>He landed at 15 Wing Moose Jaw on Wednesday afternoon and was greeted by Lt.-Gov. Vaughn Solomon Schofield.<\/p>\n<p>Following a short welcoming ceremony, the prince inspected the parade consisting of members of the Saskatchewan Dragoons and the Royal Canadian Air Force.<\/p>\n<p>Moose Jaw Mayor Deb Higgins said the prince is \u201calways very personable and willing to meet the public.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>After a private function with relatives of military personnel at 15 Wing, Prince Edward travelled to the headquarters of the Saskatchewan Dragoons, of which he is colonel-in-chief.<\/p>\n<p>Before heading inside for a BBQ with its members, the prince took some time to meet about 100 people from the public that showed up.<\/p>\n<p>Marion Tolley said it was a great honour to meet a member of the Royal Family.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019s been here before and I never got that close to him before,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe shook my hand and I welcomed him to Moose Jaw,\u201d said Laura Kuntz, who met the Queen years ago in Regina.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s royalty, they don\u2019t come too often.
