{"id":26057,"date":"2014-09-17T20:53:46","date_gmt":"2014-09-17T12:53:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/?p=26057"},"modified":"2014-09-17T20:59:43","modified_gmt":"2014-09-17T12:59:43","slug":"malacanang-announces-regular-holiday-on-october-6","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/2014\/09\/17\/malacanang-announces-regular-holiday-on-october-6\/","title":{"rendered":"Malacanang announces regular holiday on October 6"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/shutterstock_150357677.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-26060\" src=\"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/shutterstock_150357677.jpg\" alt=\"shutterstock_150357677\" width=\"383\" height=\"500\" srcset=\"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/shutterstock_150357677.jpg 383w, https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/shutterstock_150357677-229x300.jpg 229w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 383px) 100vw, 383px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>In observance of the Muslim holiday, Eidul Adha, Malacanang has declared October 6, Monday, a regular holiday.<\/p>\n<p>Presidential Proclamation 875 recognizes the significance of Eidul Adha (Feast of Sacrifice), which is one of two of Islam\u2019s greatest feasts.<\/p>\n<p>As detailed in the proclamation, October 6 was declared a holiday upon the recommendation of the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF); whereas the festival date was determined by the proclamation of Saudi Arabia\u2019s highest religious body.<\/p>\n<p>The declaration comes on the heels of the submission of the first draft of the Bangsamoro Law, which details the peace deal and political separation between the government and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front.<\/p>\n<p>Eidul Adha or the Feast of Sacrifice commemorates the willingness of Ibrahim to sacrifice his eldest son Ismail upon God\u2019s command.<\/p>\n<p>The Department of Labor and Employment stipulates the following rules governing pay for regular holidays:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022An employee who does not work on regular holidays is still entitled to 100 percent of his or her regular daily rate, \u201cprovided he or she was present, or was on leave with pay on the workday immediately preceding the holiday.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 An employee who works on a regular holiday that also falls on his or her rest day is entitled to 200 percent of the daily rate for the first eight hours and an additional 30 percent for additional hours.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/shutterstock_87244585.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-26059\" src=\"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/shutterstock_87244585-300x274.jpg\" alt=\"shutterstock_87244585\" width=\"300\" height=\"274\" srcset=\"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/shutterstock_87244585-300x274.jpg 300w, https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/shutterstock_87244585-1024x938.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/shutterstock_87244585-900x824.jpg 900w, https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/shutterstock_87244585.jpg 1639w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In observance of the Muslim holiday, Eidul Adha, Malacanang has declared October 6, Monday, a regular holiday.
