MANILA<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) commissioner Willie Marcial said the players are hoping to go back to practice despite the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) pandemic.<\/p>\n

Following a briefing he organized on Tuesday at the league’s office in Quezon City, Marcial said they expressed a united voice in returning to training.<\/p>\n

In the briefing, he and Deputy Commissioner Eric Castro discussed to the players the new practice protocols.<\/p>\n

The guidelines were approved at the PBA board level and now await the approval of the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID).<\/p>\n

In the first days of resumed practices, only four players, a trainer, and another team staff member will be allowed to get into game shape at a time.<\/p>\n

They must quickly depart the training facility to give way to the next batch of players and staff members.<\/p>\n

Only those who test negative for Covid-19 will be cleared to return to practice and everyone should be tested, the PBA Board said.<\/p>\n
