{"id":258462,"date":"2020-06-18T02:22:33","date_gmt":"2020-06-18T06:22:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/?p=258462"},"modified":"2020-06-18T02:22:33","modified_gmt":"2020-06-18T06:22:33","slug":"100-long-time-contractual-employees-in-pasig-now-regularized","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/2020\/06\/18\/100-long-time-contractual-employees-in-pasig-now-regularized\/","title":{"rendered":"100 long-time contractual employees in Pasig now regularized"},"content":{"rendered":"<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"tl\" dir=\"ltr\">Just signed the appointment papers of 100 NEWLY REGULARIZED EMPLOYEES.<\/p>\n<p>May streetsweeper, may engineering aide&#8230; lahat sila mahigit 20 years na kontraktwal sa lokal na pamahalaan ng Pasig.<\/p>\n<p>Delayed by covid-19, our employee regularization program continues! <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/HaWID5mukf\">pic.twitter.com\/HaWID5mukf<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Vico Sotto (@VicoSotto) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/VicoSotto\/status\/1273219429661171712?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 17, 2020<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>MANILA<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto on Wednesday announced that he has signed 100 appointment papers of newly-regularized employees of the city government.<\/p>\n<p>In a Facebook post, Sotto said among 100 employees who now have a permanent status are street sweepers and engineering aides who have been working as contractual employees of the City Hall for 20 years and longer.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I am happy to announce,\u00a0<em>wala nang naiwan na kontraktwal sa mga empleyado nating mahigit<\/em>\u00a020 years\u00a0<em>nang nasa serbisyo<\/em>\u00a0(that no contractual are left to our employees serving for more than 20 years),&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the delays caused by the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) pandemic, Sotto has completed the regularization of all city government employees who have been in service for more than two decades.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;<em>Yung na<\/em>-post<em>\u00a0ko dati<\/em>, 43 years<em>\u00a0na<\/em>\u00a0contractual,\u00a0<em>na<\/em>-permanent\u00a0<em>natin<\/em>\u00a0(I posted before about a contractual employee for 43 years now regularized),&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>Sotto said the next phase of the city&#8217;s employee regularization program will include workers who have been serving the city for at least 15 years.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;<em>Hindi ko man ma<\/em>-permanent\u00a0<em>lahat sa<\/em>\u00a0three years,\u00a0<em>pero &#8216;yung mga<\/em>\u00a020 years\u00a0<em>pataas<\/em>, and then after that,<em>\u00a0&#8216;yung mga<\/em>\u00a015 years\u00a0<em>pataas \u2013 bigyan natin sila ng seguridad. Ilayo natin sila sa politika<\/em>\u00a0(I may not be able to make everyone permanent in three years, but those who&#8217;ve been here 20 years or longer, then after that, those 15 years or longer \u2013 let&#8217;s give them job security. Let&#8217;s protect them from politics),&#8221; said Sotto, referring to his three-year term as mayor.<\/p>\n<p>He said these contractual employees will no longer worry about the renewal of their contracts despite the change of administration in the local government.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Sotto reminded his constituents to stay safe against the risks of\u00a0the Covid-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Stay healthy,<em>\u00a0magtulungan po tayo para matapos na ang pandemyang ito<\/em>\u00a0(let&#8217;s help each to end this pandemic).
