{"id":25831,"date":"2014-09-14T20:26:46","date_gmt":"2014-09-14T12:26:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/?p=25831"},"modified":"2014-09-14T20:26:46","modified_gmt":"2014-09-14T12:26:46","slug":"110-survivors-rescued-3-fatalities-recovered-3-still-missing-in-mv-maharlika-2-sinking-pcg","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/2014\/09\/14\/110-survivors-rescued-3-fatalities-recovered-3-still-missing-in-mv-maharlika-2-sinking-pcg\/","title":{"rendered":"110 survivors rescued, 3 fatalities recovered, 3 still missing in M\/V Maharlika-2 sinking &#8212; PCG"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure id=\"attachment_25740\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-25740\" style=\"width: 420px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/roro.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-25740\" src=\"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/roro.gif\" alt=\"Roll-On, Roll-Off (RORO) Wikipedia photo\" width=\"420\" height=\"315\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-25740\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Roll-On, Roll-Off (RORO) Wikipedia photo<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>MANILA &#8212; The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), in its 10 a.m. Sunday update, announced that various rescue units which responded to the foundering of the M\/V Maharlika-2 off Southern Leyte Saturday night have so far recovered 110 passengers and crew members and three fatalities.<\/p>\n<p>Three persons are still missing as of this posting.<\/p>\n<p>The Coast Guard public affairs office said the rescued individuals and the fatalities were recovered by the following ships:<\/p>\n<p>* M\/V Maharlika; 34;<\/p>\n<p>* M\/V Lara Venture; 19;<\/p>\n<p>* M\/T St. Martin; 56 (54 survivors and two fatalities);<\/p>\n<p>* M\/T Orient King; 2 (one survivor and fatality);<\/p>\n<p>* M\/V Filipinas Maasin; 2.<\/p>\n<p>The total number of survivors has been placed at 110, fatalities at three and three remained missing, the PCG said.<\/p>\n<p>These individuals are now being transported to shore by Navy and Coast Guard patrols ships in the area.<\/p>\n<p>Capt.
