MANILA<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 The government is ready for the resumption of all big-ticket projects under its \u201cBuild, Build, Build\u201d infrastructure program amid the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) health crisis, Malaca\u00f1ang said on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said continuing the implementation of \u201cBuild, Build, Build\u201d would help the country recover from the negative impact of the Covid-19 crisis.<\/p>\n

\u201cKasama po sa ating stratehiya kung paano tayo babangon sa trahedya sa<\/em>\u00a0Covid-19\u00a0ang<\/em>\u00a0\u2018Build, Build, Build\u2019\u00a0at kasama na po diyan \u2018yung mga<\/em>\u00a0flagship projects\u00a0natin<\/em>. All systems go\u00a0para sa<\/em>\u00a0projects (The implementation of flagship projects under the \u2018Build, Build, Build\u2019 program is one of our strategies to recover. All systems go for these projects),\u201d Roque said in a virtual Palace press briefing.<\/p>\n

The Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases has allowed the resumption of all key infrastructure projects under the \u201cBuild, Build, Build\u201d program despite the threat posed by Covid-19.<\/p>\n

Roque said the construction of infrastructure projects is underway.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn-<\/em>allow\u00a0na po ng<\/em>\u00a0IATF\u00a0yung konstruksyon muli ng<\/em>\u00a0priority projects\u00a0natin at lahat po iyan ay<\/em>\u00a0ongoing\u00a0na ngayon<\/em>\u00a0(The IATF has allowed the construction of priority projects and it is ongoing),\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Some of the projects that have resumed are the National Luzon Expressway (NLEX) Harbor Link, the NLEX-SLEX Connector, the Cavite-Laguna Expressway, the Metro Manila Skyway Stage 3, the R-1 Bridge Project, the Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway Project, and the Subic Freeport Expressway Project.<\/p>\n

The Department of Finance has also signed loan agreements with the Japan International Cooperation Agency for two flagship infrastructure projects \u2013 the PHP57-billion loan to support the Cebu-Mactan Fourth Bridge and the Coastal Road Construction in the Visayas, and the PHP18.5-billion supplemental funding for the Davao City Bypass Construction Project.<\/p>\n

The government has expressed optimism that \u201cBuild, Build, Build\u201d would revitalize the Philippine economy as it is expected to create jobs in the country.<\/p>\n

About PHP1 trillion would be spent this year for the implementation of the program.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
