Razon)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>MANILA<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 The now lifted enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) \u201cworked\u201d in containing coronavirus disease (Covid-19) infection, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>Roque made this comment as the Metro Manila and other areas transitioned from modified ECQ to less stringent general community quarantine (GCQ) on June 1.<\/p>\n<p>In a virtual presser, Roque said the country\u2019s positivity rate declined from 13.4 percent in April to 7.5 percent as of late May. Positivity rate refers to the number of laboratory-confirmed tests that come back positive.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cNagsimula tayo noong<\/em>\u00a0April,\u00a0<em>ay napakataas po ng<\/em>\u00a0positivity rate \u2018no, 13.4 percent &#8211; April 12 &#8211; 13.4 percent\u00a0<em>at sa ngayon po<\/em>\u00a0as of May 24\u00a0<em>ay nasa<\/em>\u00a06.5 percent\u00a0<em>na po tayo<\/em>\u00a0\u2013 so\u00a0<em>ibig sabihin, talagang gumana po ang ating<\/em>\u00a0ECQ (When we started in April 12, we had a very high positivity rate at 13.4 percent.
