Razon)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>MANILA<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Malaca\u00f1ang on Saturday released an updated roster of areas that will be placed under general community quarantine (GCQ) from June 1 to 15.<\/p>\n<p>Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said Pangasinan; Region 2 (Cagayan Valley); Region 3 (Central Luzon); Region 4-A (Calabarzon); National Capital Region (NCR), including Pateros; Region 7 (Central Visayas); Zamboanga City; Davao City; Cebu City; and Mandaue City are the areas included in the new list of areas under GCQ.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>Ang lahat po ng ibang lugar pa sa Pilipinas na hindi ko nabanggit, lahat po kayo ay nasa<\/em>\u00a0modified GCQ (All areas in the Philippines that I do not mention are under modified GCQ [or MGCQ]),\u201d Roque said during the Laging Handa program aired on state-run PTV-4.<\/p>\n<p>The latest development came after President Rodrigo Duterte announced on Thursday that GCQ will be imposed in NCR, Davao City, Cagayan Valley, Region 3, Region 4-A, Pangasinan, and Albay beginning June 1.<\/p>\n<p>Roque said people\u2019s movement, public transportation, and the operations of some industries are still limited in places where GCQ is imposed.<\/p>\n<p>He added that the presence of police remains necessary in areas under GCQ to enforce community quarantine protocols.<\/p>\n<p>Roque said quarantine protocols will be \u201cmore relaxed\u201d in places put under MGCQ.<\/p>\n<p>He also said that MGCQ would be the transition phase between GCQ and the so-called \u201cnew normal,\u201d which the public can only experience once quarantine restrictions are lifted.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>Magiging mas<\/em>\u00a0relaxed<em>\u00a0po<\/em>\u00a0([Temporary measures in MGCQ zones] are more relaxed),\u201d Roque said. \u201c<em>Bagama\u2019t meron pa rin pong presensya ng ating kapulisan para ma-<\/em>enforce<em>\u00a0pa rin ang\u00a0<\/em>community protocols (However, police\u2019s presence is still necessary to enforce community protocols).\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Cebu and Mandaue cities are still under enhanced community quarantine (ECQ), the most stringent community quarantine, until May 31 since these are deemed as high-risk areas for coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).<\/p>\n<p>Modified ECQ is still also effective in Metro Manila, Laguna, Bataan, Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, and Zambales until May 31.<\/p>\n<p>The rest of the country, on the other hand, were placed under GCQ.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>MANILA\u00a0\u2013 Malaca\u00f1ang on Saturday released an updated roster of areas that will be placed under general community quarantine (GCQ) from &hellip;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":44,"featured_media":256223,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[1145,16,95],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-256609","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-headline","category-news","category-news-ph","mauthors-ruth-abbey-gita-carlos","mauthors-philippine-news-agency"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/256609","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/44"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=256609"}],"version-history":[{"count":2,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/256609\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":256620,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/256609\/revisions\/256620"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/256223"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=256609"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=256609"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=256609"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
