Gather around as the Percy Jackson series is about to be re-made as a TV series soon to be available on Disney+.<\/p>\n<p>The series author himself, Rick Riordan along with his wife Becky, delivered the news via Twitter after months of rumors being hinted about the soon-to-be live-action series.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAfter a lot of hard work, and a lot of support from you guys, Percy Jackson is coming to Disney+,\u201d announced Riordan, addressing the Demigods, or what the fans of the series are called. The demigods are also what the main characters of the series are called.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Pssst. Hey, demigods . . . <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/7ep4aeyS3I\">pic.twitter.com\/7ep4aeyS3I<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Rick Riordan (@rickriordan) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/rickriordan\/status\/1261008593077374977?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 14, 2020<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;We can\u2019t say much more at this stage but we are very excited about the idea of a live-action series of the highest quality, following the storyline of the original\u00a0<em>Percy Jackson<\/em>\u00a05-book series, starting with\u00a0<em>The Lightning Thief<\/em>\u00a0in season one,&#8221; Riordan said in a follow-up statement.<\/p>\n<p>Riordan also said that the TV series will remain faithful to the original five-book saga as he and his wife will be heavily involved in the making of the adaptation.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Rest assured that Becky and I will be involved in person in every aspect of the show. There will be much more news in the future, but for now, we have a lot of work to do! Buckle up, demigods. It\u2019s going to be a fantastic, exciting ride,&#8221; he added.<\/p>\n<p>The series will follow the Greek Mythology-based story of Percy Jackson, who realizes he is a demigod and his father is an Olympian god, Poseidon. He is then sent to Camp Half-Blood, where other demigods are trained and kept safe from the monsters that hunt them. Percy meets fellow demigod Annabeth and the satyr Grover from the camp and together, they discover more of the world dividing man and ancient gods.<\/p>\n<p>The first book of the series has been adapted into a film by the 20<sup>th<\/sup> Century Fox as \u201cPercy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief\u201d starring Logan Lerman as Percy Jackson, Alexandra Daddario as Annabeth, and Brandon T. Jackson as Grover.<\/p>\n<p>Lerman also shared his excitement on Twitter and hopes that the series will get the adaptation it deserves.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Excited to see this!
