Over the past few months there has been an increase in the number of racist incidents people are experiencing both across Canada and in or near our neighbourhood of Renfrew-Collingwood. These incidents are deeply disturbing. As a neighbourhood house, we strive to be a welcoming place, working with local residents to give them a sense of belonging in our neighbourhood. CNH staff and our Board of Directors are responding.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The CNH Board of Directors is organizing and hosting a\u00a0virtual Town Hall on Racism During the Pandemic<\/strong>.\u00a0It will take place this Thursday, May 14 from 7-8 pm both on Zoom and as a live feed on our\u00a0Facebook page<\/a>.<\/strong>\u00a0If you would like to participate via Zoom, please register at\u00a0https:\/\/bit.ly\/2xTphad<\/a>.<\/strong>\u00a0Simply click on the link to register and you will receive a confirmation later.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

CNH Board Directors RJ Aquino and Daniel Louie will co-facilitate the session, aiming to create a safe space where participants can talk about their experiences and also think about what we can do collectively to combat racism and create a more welcoming neighbourhood. Registration spots are limited so please register now. You are invited to send in questions ahead of time to RJ Aquino (rjaquino@tulayan.org) or you can ask questions via Zoom or Facebook during the event.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
