(Pexels photo)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Effective May 8, 2020, some International Experience Canada (IEC) visa holders are exempt from Canada\u2019s coronavirus\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cicnews.com\/2020\/05\/canada-refines-definition-of-essential-travel-during-coronavirus-0514270.html#gs.5nbpc8\">travel restrictions.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Only IEC participants who have a valid job offer and a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/international-experience-canada-program.html#gs.5nbr05\">port of entry letter of introduction<\/a>\u00a0are now able to come to Canada, according to Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), although IRCC advises such individuals to continue to check its website for\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/en\/immigration-refugees-citizenship\/services\/coronavirus-covid19\/iec.html\">updates.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Canada has deemed anyone arriving to the country for work during the coronavirus period to be an \u201cessential\u201d traveler.<\/p>\n<p>IEC participants with a job offer should take note that they are\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cicnews.com\/2020\/04\/stay-home-travellers-to-canada-must-quarantine-for-two-weeks-0414047.html#gs.5ncrzu\">legally required<\/a>\u00a0to self-quarantine for 14 days upon arriving to Canada and need to provide authorities with a self-quarantine plan.<\/p>\n<p>Only\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/coronavirus-covid-19-impact-canada-immigration-visa-border-latest-news.html#gs.5ncwd0\">four Canadian airports<\/a>\u00a0are currently receiving international flights: Vancouver (YVR), Calgary (YYC), Montreal (YUL), and Toronto (YYZ).<\/p>\n<p>The IEC enables youth, generally between the ages of 18-35, to obtain\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/canadian-immigration-open-work-permits.html#gs.5ncjcm\">open work permits<\/a>\u00a0in Canada for between 1-2 years.<\/p>\n<p>These youth are citizens of Canada\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/international-experience-canada-program.html#countriesbilaterialagreement\">peer countries<\/a>\u00a0such as Australia, New Zealand, Chile, Costa Rica, most European Union member states, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, and South Korea.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Need assistance with the Temporary Work Permit application process?
