(Pexels photo)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>MANILA<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 The Department of Health (DOH) on Saturday reported 147 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) as well as 108 new recoveries, bringing the total to 10,610 and 1,842, respectively.<\/p>\n<div>Of the new cases, 123 were in Metro Manila and 24 from other regions. The 10,610 cases reflected on its daily situationer were all confirmed positive via RT-PCR (reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction) tests.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The DOH also announced eight new deaths, bringing the death toll to 704 as of May 9.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Data from DOH&#8217;s Covid-19 tracker showed that 131,786 unique individual tests have so far been done, of which 13,405 turned out positive, 118,085 negatives, and 147 equivocal, and 149 invalids.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Meanwhile, the DOH denied the alleged &#8220;cover-ups&#8221; on the case tally after reports circulated on social media that it has a &#8220;backlog&#8221; of 3,000 Covid-19 positive tests not yet officially reported.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>&#8220;All results from the licensed laboratories around the country are reported to the DOH. All data from these reports are made public in our daily situationer and Covid-19 tracker.
