Flores\/PIA 3)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>MANILA<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) president and chief executive officer Vivencio \u201cVince\u201d Dizon has been named as deputy chief implementer of the government\u2019s national policy against coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), Malaca\u00f1ang announced on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>In a May 1 memorandum inked by Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea, Dizon\u2019s new appointment takes effect \u201cimmediately.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Medialdea said Dizon was named deputy chief implementer of government\u2019s response to Covid-19 in compliance with President Rodrigo Duterte\u2019s instruction.<\/p>\n<p>He added that it was also meant to ensure the \u201ccontinuous and effective delivery of public service\u201d amid the crisis brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic in the country.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPlease be informed that Mr. Vivencio B. Dizon, president and CEO of the Bases and Conversion Development Authority and Presidential Adviser for Flagship Program and Projects, is hereby designated as deputy chief implementer of the Philippines\u2019 declared national policy against Covid-19, effective immediately,\u201d the Palace memorandum read.<\/p>\n<p>Apart from his new stint, Dizon currently serves as BCDA chief and Presidential Adviser for Flagship Program and Projects.<\/p>\n<p>Dizon\u2019s new designation mandates him to help Presidential Peace Adviser Carlito Galvez Jr. who concurrently serves as the chief implementer of the government\u2019s Covid-19 response.<\/p>\n<p>As the chief implementer, Galvez is tasked to ensure strict compliance and adherence of the public and private sectors to guidelines and protocols issued by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases.<\/p>\n<p>Galvez is also in charge of protecting and promoting the safety and welfare of the public at all times, as well as to ensure the efficient and expeditious distribution of government assistance to the public, especially citizens in most need.<\/p>\n<p>As of Friday, the Philippines has 8,772 confirmed Covid-19 infections, with 579 fatalities and 1,084 recoveries.<\/p>\n<p>Areas deemed high risk for Covid-19 are placed under enhanced community quarantine (ECQ), while low-risk and moderate-risk areas are under general community quarantine (GCQ) until May 15.<\/p>\n<p>On April 30, Duterte inked Executive Order 112, imposing ECQ in Metro Manila; Central Luzon, except Aurora; Calabarzon; Benguet; Pangasinan; Iloilo province; Cebu province; Bacolod City; and Davao City.<\/p>\n<p>GCQ will be implemented in all areas nationwide that are not under ECQ.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>MANILA\u00a0\u2013 Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) president and chief executive officer Vivencio \u201cVince\u201d Dizon has been named as deputy &hellip;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":44,"featured_media":237372,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[16,95],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-253708","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-news","category-news-ph","mauthors-ruth-abbey-gita-carlos","mauthors-philippine-news-agency"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/253708","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/44"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=253708"}],"version-history":[{"count":2,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/253708\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":253710,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/253708\/revisions\/253710"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/237372"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=253708"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=253708"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=253708"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
