ACE MORANDANTE\/PRESIDENTIAL PHOTO<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>MANILA<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 The National Economic and Development Authority\u2019s (NEDA) Investment Coordination Committee (ICC) has approved a PHP5.09-billion project to fund the Department of Health\u2019s (DOH) emergency response against the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>This was disclosed in President Rodrigo Duterte\u2019s fourth weekly report submitted to Congress on his use of additional powers in dealing with the health crisis.<\/p>\n<p>According to the report, the emergency response project would cover the establishment of testing and patient care centers at six major international airports in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.<\/p>\n<p>It would finance the construction of 21 first-line decontamination facilities at international airports in selected areas across the country.<\/p>\n<p>Negative pressure isolation rooms shall be installed in 70 DOH hospitals and 85 provincial public hospitals across the country.<\/p>\n<p>The DOH project also includes equipping national laboratories and sub-national public health laboratories to handle Covid-19 cases across the country; setting up 450 isolation tents; and providing personal protective equipment, Covid-19 test kits, diagnostic and life support equipment, and ambulances.<\/p>\n<p>The ICC consists of the Finance Secretary and NEDA Director-General as co-chairpersons; and the Executive Secretary, the Secretaries of Agriculture, Trade and Industry, Budget and Management, and the Governor of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas as members.<\/p>\n<p>Under the \u201cBayanihan to Heal as One&#8221; law, the executive department must submit a weekly report to Congress, every Monday, detailing how the President used his special powers to address Covid-19.<\/p>\n<p>The report must include the amount and corresponding utilization of funds used, augmented, reprogrammed, reallocated, and realigned.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>MANILA\u00a0\u2013 The National Economic and Development Authority\u2019s (NEDA) Investment Coordination Committee (ICC) has approved a PHP5.09-billion project to fund the &hellip;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":33,"featured_media":251466,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[1145,16,95],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-252747","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-headline","category-news","category-news-ph","mauthors-filane-mikee-cervantes","mauthors-philippine-news-agency"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/252747","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/33"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=252747"}],"version-history":[{"count":1,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/252747\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":252748,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/252747\/revisions\/252748"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/251466"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=252747"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=252747"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=252747"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
