KARL NORMAN ALONZO\/PRESIDENTIAL PHOTO<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>MANILA<\/strong>\u00a0&#8212; The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) has provided financial assistance to around 286,000 workers affected by the enhanced community quarantine in Luzon amid the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) outbreak.<\/p>\n<p>According to President Rodrigo Duterte\u2019s third weekly report submitted to Congress, the DOLE has distributed the PHP5,000 cash assistance under the Covid-19 Adjustment Measures Program (CAMP) to 167,941 workers or around 52 percent of its targeted beneficiaries.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, some 118,086 informal workers, or 46 percent of the targeted beneficiaries, have benefited from the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Displaced\/Disadvantaged Workers (TUPAD)-Barangay Ko Bahay Ko (BKBK) program.<\/p>\n<p>Based on the report, around PHP1.046 billion in assistance funds have been provided to beneficiaries of CAMP and TUPAD.<\/p>\n<p>TUPAD provides the equivalent of a daily minimum wage for 10 days of work for the informal sector workers.<\/p>\n<p>Tricycle drivers, vendors and other daily wage earners affected by the community quarantines of the LGUs can avail of this emergency employment.<\/p>\n<p>CAMP, on the other hand, is a safety net program that provides support to affected workers in private establishments that have adopted FWA (flexible work arrangement) or temporary closure during the Covid-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>Under the \u201cBayanihan to Heal as One&#8221; law, the executive department must submit a weekly report to Congress, every Monday, detailing how he used his special powers to address Covid-19.<\/p>\n<p>The report must include the amount and corresponding utilization of funds used, augmented, reprogrammed, reallocated, and realigned.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>MANILA\u00a0&#8212; The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) has provided financial assistance to around 286,000 workers affected by the enhanced &hellip;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":33,"featured_media":251976,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[1145,16,95],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-251975","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-headline","category-news","category-news-ph","mauthors-filane-mikee-cervantes","mauthors-philippine-news-agency"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/251975","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/33"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=251975"}],"version-history":[{"count":1,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/251975\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":251977,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/251975\/revisions\/251977"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/251976"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=251975"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=251975"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=251975"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
