(PNA File photo)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>MANILA<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 The Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) has approved the proposed guidelines on the repatriation of Filipinos working in cruise ships, Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles said on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe interim guidelines on the repatriation of Overseas Filipinos working in cruise ships as proposed by the DOH (Department of Health) is hereby approved,\u201d Nograles, also acting as IATF-EID spokesperson, said in a virtual presser aired on state-owned PTV-4.<\/p>\n<p>Nograles said the Bureau of Quarantine was directed to update the existing algorithm for the triage of patients with possible Covid-19 infection in ports of entry.<\/p>\n<p>He said the triage tool being used to evaluate patients&#8217; medical condition within a short time should apply to land-based overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) who may be repatriated through the efforts of the national government.<\/p>\n<p>Nograles said the IATF-EID directed its sub-technical working group to convene to formulate guidelines to manage and ensure the welfare of repatriated Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs).<\/p>\n<p>The sub-technical working group, Nograles said, is composed of the departments of Labor, Tourism, Transportation, Foreign Affairs, Local Government, and Health.<\/p>\n<p>Nograles also said local government units should allow the unhampered transit of OFWs who completed the 14-day facility-based quarantine or are required to undergo a mandatory 14-day home quarantine.<\/p>\n<p>On March 28, Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro Locsin Jr. said over 4,000 Filipino crew members are expected to return home in the next three weeks.<\/p>\n<p>Locsin, however, said there were concerns over the scheduled repatriation of Filipino crew due to the limited available facilities that can accommodate them as they undergo mandatory quarantine.<\/p>\n<p>Nograles said the New Clark City Athlete\u2019s Village would continue to serve as the \u201ctemporary\u201d quarantine site for Filipino repatriates.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe New Clark City Athlete\u2019s Village shall continue to be designated as a temporary quarantine facility,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>MANILA\u00a0\u2013 The Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) has approved the proposed guidelines on the &hellip;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":44,"featured_media":241217,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[16,95],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-250873","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-news","category-news-ph","mauthors-ruth-abbey-gita-carlos","mauthors-philippine-news-agency"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/250873","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/44"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=250873"}],"version-history":[{"count":1,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/250873\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":250874,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/250873\/revisions\/250874"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/241217"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=250873"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=250873"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=250873"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
