(PNA photo by Gil Calinga)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>MANILA<\/strong>\u00a0&#8212; The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) on Wednesday said it has already downloaded the Social Amelioration Card forms through its field offices to local government units.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe local government units (LGUs) in turn have printed and distributed the forms through the barangay officials,\u201d DSWD spokesperson Irene Dumlao said.<\/p>\n<p>Dumlao also clarified that the beneficiaries will both receive \u201ccash and in-kind allocation&#8221; from the DSWD.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cProvided that the benefit received will not exceed the maximum subsidy per region,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Albay Representative and House Ways and Means Committee chair Joey Salceda shared the breakdown of cash subsidies to be received by some 18 million low-income households amid the implementation of the enhanced community quarantine to mitigate the spread of the deadly virus.<\/p>\n<p>The breakdown stated that the beneficiaries from the National Capital Region (NCR) will receive the highest amount at PHP8,000, while those in Central Luzon and Calabarzon regions will receive PHP6,500.<\/p>\n<p>Other regions will receive around PHP5,000 to PHP6,000<\/p>\n<p>The emergency subsidy is under Section 4C of Republic Act No. 11469 or the Bayanihan to Heal as One Act to which the government has allotted P200 billion cash assistance.<\/p>\n<p>The cash subsidy schedule was based on the upper limit of the daily minimum wage in each region, Salceda said.<\/p>\n<p>In its report submitted early Tuesday, Malacanang said 8,641 beneficiaries had received PHP5,000 in financial assistance from the Covid-19 Adjustment Measures Program of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).<\/p>\n<p>The program has initially set aside PHP1.3 billion to support workers whose employers in the private sector have implemented flexible work arrangements or have temporarily closed due to COVID-19.<\/p>\n<p>Stated in the Bayanihan to Heal as One Act (RA 11469), the poor families will receive the monthly emergency subsidy for two months.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe subsidy shall be computed based on the prevailing regional minimum wage rates,\u201d RA 11469, inked by President Rodrigo Duterte on March 24, stated.<\/p>\n<p>It also said that the subsidy received from the current conditional cash transfer program and rice subsidy should be taken into consideration in the computation of the emergency subsidy.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>MANILA\u00a0&#8212; The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) on Wednesday said it has already downloaded the Social Amelioration Card &hellip;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":44,"featured_media":249900,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[16,95],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-250783","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-news","category-news-ph","mauthors-christine-cudis","mauthors-philippine-news-agency"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/250783","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/44"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=250783"}],"version-history":[{"count":1,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/250783\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":250784,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/250783\/revisions\/250784"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/249900"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=250783"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=250783"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=250783"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
