Razon)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>MANILA<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Eduardo A\u00f1o on Monday said extending the Luzon-wide enhanced community quarantine is not advisable as it would affect the country\u2019s economy.<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;Hindi<\/em>\u00a0advisable\u00a0<em>na pahabain, magsa<\/em>-suffer ang economy (It is not advisable to extend it, the economy will only suffer),&#8221; A\u00f1o said in a radio interview.<\/p>\n<p>A\u00f1o said the government will be able address the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) crisis in the remaining two weeks if everyone will cooperate and strictly follow the enhanced community quarantine.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cItong natitirang dalawang linggo nating ito at seryosohin natin<\/em>\u00a0I tell you\u00a0<em>maso<\/em>-solve\u00a0<em>natin ito, wala lang mga pasaway<\/em>\u00a0(In the next two weeks and we\u2019ll have to take it seriously, I tell you, we will solve it, if no one will violate),\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Under the 30-day enhanced community quarantine imposed to contain the spread of Covid-19 outbreak, A\u00f1o said people living in Luzon are required to observe strict home quarantine and limit movements to accessing basic necessities.<\/p>\n<p>He said decision to lift the enhanced community quarantine on April 14 will still depend on the decision of President Rodrigo Duterte.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cDepende sa ating Pangulo kung i-<\/em>lift\u00a0<em>yan. Meron mga measures pagkatapos ng<\/em>\u00a0lockdown.\u00a0<em>Kailangan ba or ilan<\/em>\u00a0workforce percent\u00a0<em>ang papayagan muna natin, unti-unti<\/em>\u00a0establishment<em>\u00a0na io-<\/em>open,\u00a0<em>yun yung mga<\/em>\u00a0measures\u00a0<em>na dapat i-<\/em>continue (It will depend on the President if it will be lifted. There are measures after lockdown, how many percent of workforce will be allowed, gradual opening of establishment, measures that will be continued),\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n<p>A\u00f1o said the decision of Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) would rely on the number of Covid-19 positive cases in the country.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cPalagay ko naman pag umabot tayo ng ganun<\/em>\u00a0(10,000 cases)\u00a0<em>dapat i-<\/em>extend\u00a0<em>yun, di pupuwedeng pabayaan mo lang, pero syempre<\/em>\u00a0IATF<em>\u00a0ang magde-<\/em>decide\u00a0<em>dyan, ng<\/em>\u00a0particular number\u00a0<em>ng<\/em>\u00a0threshold\u00a0<em>natin at saka yung mga<\/em>\u00a0underlying factors\u00a0<em>pa, so malalaman natin yun ano sa mga susunod na mga araw<\/em>\u00a0(If it will reach 10,000 cases, it should be extended. We cannot ignore it but of course, IATF will still decide base on particular number of threshold and underlying factors.
