(BDO) on Tuesday said one of its employees at the operations office in San Juan was tested positive for coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).<\/p>\n<p>On a post in its Facebook page, BDO said it is closely monitoring the status of the employee.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSaid employee is not branch-based and does not have any face-to-face interaction with clients,\u201d it said.<\/p>\n<p>The bank said all employees who had contacts with the Covid-19 patient are now under self-quarantine.<\/p>\n<p>The bank said it will provide the employee with support and guidance.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBDO will continue to closely monitor the situation to ensure that the well-being of employees, customers, and suppliers is protected,\u201d it added.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement, the BDO said it was informed about the confirmation of the employee\u2019s Covid-19 status on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>The bank said it is in closely monitoring with the Department of Health (DOH) for necessary actions, and is now doing detailed contact tracing on the people who had close contact with the patient.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe affected office area, as well as the common spaces such as the elevators and toilets, are being deep cleaned and disinfected. We have also advised our employees to be cautious about their wellness and hygiene to boost their immune system,\u201d it added.<\/p>\n<p>As of Tuesday, the DOH reported 45 new Covid-19 cases, bringing the total of affected persons to 187.<\/p>\n<p>It also reported another recovered patient, bringing the total to four while deaths remain at 12.<\/p>\n<p>With the rise of Covid-19 cases, President Rodrigo Duterte has placed the entire Philippines under a state of calamity for six months.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Posted by BDO Unibank on&nbsp;Tuesday, March 17, 2020 &nbsp; MANILA\u00a0\u2013 Sy-led BDO Unibank Inc.
