Monzonda \/ Wikipedia photo<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>MANILA\u00a0 &#8212; The hostage-taking incident inside the New Bilibid Prisons (NBP) ended peacefully on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>It started at 12:30 p.m. and ended at 2:40 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>According to NBP Acting Superintendent Celso Bravo, the hostage-taking took place at the Samsung Factory, a handicraft factory inside the Medium Security Compound.<\/p>\n<p>Bravo identified the victim as Susan Egana, a civilian employee of Samsung Factory.<\/p>\n<p>Likewise, he identified the hostage-taker as Dennis Gonzaga, an inmate worker who had in his possession a screw driver.<\/p>\n<p>NBP Chaplain Monsignor Bobby Olaguer also helped in the negotiation.<\/p>\n<p>The hostage-taker earlier demanded to talk to his mother or his sibling.<\/p>\n<p>The sibling of the hostage-taker arrived later and upon seeing his sibling, he immediately released his victim and surrendered to authorities.<\/p>\n<p>The hostage-taker was convicted for parricide and was sentenced to suffer a jail term of up to 17 years.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>MANILA\u00a0 &#8212; The hostage-taking incident inside the New Bilibid Prisons (NBP) ended peacefully on Monday.
