Fernando Suarez died on Tuesday afternoon due to heart attack. He was 52.<\/p>\n<p>Fr. Melvin Castro of the Diocese of Tarlac confirmed the news about Suarez&#8217;s death.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>Kare<\/em>-receive<em>\u00a0ko lang<\/em>\u00a0<em>ng\u00a0<\/em>text&#8230;<em>tumawag ako sa ka<\/em>-close<em>\u00a0niya, nasa<\/em>\u00a0Asian Hospital\u00a0<em>sila<\/em>\u00a0(I just received the text message. I called his close friend. They are at the Asian Hospital now),\u201d he said in an interview.<\/p>\n<p>Castro said Suarez was playing tennis in Alabang when he collapsed. He was then brought to the hospital where he eventually passed away.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was in shock and I didn&#8217;t want to believe it. The last time we talked was when he was declared not guilty. He was happy. He said it&#8217;s about time. I think the Lord just waited for him to be cleared. It was really sad,\u201d Castro said.<\/p>\n<p>Last December, the Vatican has cleared Suarez from accusations of sexual abuse of minors.<\/p>\n<p>In a letter, the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith informed Judicial Vicar and retired Novaliches Bishop Most Rev. Antonio Tobias of the \u201cnot guilty\u201d verdict on the Filipino priest.<\/p>\n<p>The case was submitted by the National Tribunal of Appeals to Rome in May last year.<\/p>\n<p>Suarez was known for conducting \u201chealing\u201d masses in and out of the country.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>MANILA\u00a0&#8212; Healing priest Fr.
