The pride of the Philippines, and Tony and Laurence Olivier awardee, Ms. Lea Salonga, was the featured artist of the Hong Kong Philharmonic\u2019s fundraising concert \u201cLove Passion Music\u201d on February 15 at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Concert Hall.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ms. Salonga\u2019s repertoire included \u201cDefying Gravity\u201d from the hit Broadway musical \u201cWicked\u201d and \u201cA Whole New World\u201d from the Disney hit \u201cAladdin,\u201d which she sang with Mr. Raymond Young, Permanent Secretary for Home Affairs of Hong Kong.\u00a0 Her brother, Gerard Salonga, was the guest conductor.<\/span><\/p>\n

The concert, which was well-attended by the Filipino community in Hong Kong to the delight of Ms. Salonga, also included performances from Mr. Michael Macleod, Chief Executive of Hong Kong Philharmonic, the Chinese General Chamber of Commerce Choir, as well as from talented kids and music enthusiasts. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The proceeds from the concert will benefit the Hong Kong Philharmonic\u2019s music education and community engagement programmes.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n

The Philippine Consulate General and Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company (PLDT) served as supporters of the event.\u00a0 END<\/span><\/p>\n
