Days later, Nadine Lustre finally breaks her silence.<\/p>\n<p>The first day of the year was expected to be celebrated with cheers and hopes of great luck, but Jadine fans were <em>shookt<\/em> when Philippine Entertainment Portal (PEP) dropped the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pep.ph\/pepalerts\/cabinet-files\/148464\/james-reid-nadine-lustre-breakup-a734-20200101\">news<\/a> that Nadine and James Reid broke up because of \u201cirreconcilable differences,\u201d with the actress packing her things and leaving their shared home<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>Hindi lingid sa malalapit na kaibigan nina<\/em> James <em>at<\/em> Nadine <em>ang naganap na hiwalayan, na hindi pa inaamin ng dalawa sa publiko<\/em> (The breakup that the two did not admit publicly is not a secret from James and Nadine\u2019s friends),\u201d PEP\u2019s Jojo Gabinete reported, along with \u201ccryptic\u201d Instagram posts.<\/p>\n<p>The article did not sit well with some fans who provided \u2018evidence\u2019 that the two didn\u2019t call it quits since they were spotted to be together during the holiday seasons, even hosting an event together.<\/p>\n<p>James and Nadine remained mum on the issue but the news didn\u2019t die, with Ricky Lo writing about it in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.philstar.com\/entertainment\/2020\/01\/04\/1981815\/jadine-breakup-case-too-much-too-soon\">column<\/a> in Philippine Star, claiming that PEP\u2019s report \u201cis true, and not fake news.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJojo mentioned \u201cirreconcilable differences\u201d as the cause of the breakup. Was it a case of \u201ctoo much, too soon\u201d\u2026too much togetherness and too soon to be living together?\u201d the columnist wrote.<\/p>\n<p>According to Lo, \u201cit was confirmed that Nadine packed up and left the Loyola Grand Villas (Quezon City) home of James that has served as their love nest for more than two years, and moved to a unit in a posh Makati condo.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut even if they are now living apart, the un-couple is said to still see each other,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Lo further said that the \u201ccracks in the relationship were reported\u201d by the end of 2019 when James left Viva to go solo in his career and when ABS-CBN announced a project pairing him with Momoland\u2019s Nancy DcDonie.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNadine frowned on James being paired with another actress,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n<p>The online version of Lo\u2019s column was edited, omitting parts where he talked about Nadine\u2019s mental health, as well as, the death of her brother.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2018Anu na, 2020 na!\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cFirst off, that was so low.\u201d This is how Nadine responded through an Instagram story on Sunday, January 7, tagging Lo and the publication.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSecond, none of what you said was true and it is NEVER okay to use someone&#8217;s mental situation\/tragic past just to prove a point. Mental illness is a very sensitive matter,\u201d she continued.<\/p>\n<p>Nadine ended her short note on the story with, \u201cAnd last, you think you know so much about me, you can\u2019t even my last name right. <em>Anu na<\/em>, 2020 <em>na<\/em> (It\u2019s already 2020!)\u201d &#8211; which a direct response to Lo&#8217;s ending notes, &#8220;Come on, Nadine, it\u2019s 2020.
