REY BANIQUET\/PRESIDENTIAL PHOTO<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>MANILA &#8211;<\/strong>&#8211; Nearly a week before the entire nation welcomes 2020, President Rodrigo Duterte expressed hope that Filipinos would continue to enjoy a \u201ccomfortable life\u201d and feel \u201clasting peace\u201d, Malaca\u00f1ang said on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe President first would like to greet all Filipinos a happy and prosperous New Year,\u201d Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo said in an interview with Palace reporters. \u201cHis wish at the very inception of his presidency is to serve them and protect them, and to give them comfortable lives and lasting peace.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Duterte will welcome 2020 with his family at his residence in Davao City.\u00a0 Panelo said the President would stay home until January 2 next year.<\/p>\n<p>Asked if the President has a New Year\u2019s resolution, Panelo said, \u201cWala naman. Wala siyang nabanggit (There is none.
