Facebook Photo<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>MANILA \u2013 Jesuit priest Joaquin Bernas, a member of the 1986 Constitutional Commission, advised the president to rest and let other \u201cgood people\u201d take over.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ll say, \u2018Rest, there are other good people,\u2019\u201d Bernas, a Philippine Daily Inquirer columnist, said in an interview on ANC on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>Bernas made the statement after being asked about the recent issues on the administration being open for constitutional amendment to lift the presidential term limit.<\/p>\n<p>He also reiterated his disapproval of amending the constitution, and advised the president to retire after his six-year term.<\/p>\n<p>He made it clear that he disapproved of changing the presidential term limit and advised Aquino to retire after serving his six-year term.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s why the move now to reelect is very much against the spirit of the ConCom. It\u2019s very much against (former President) Cory (Aquino) herself,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Bernas also added that Aquino must give chance to Sen. Miriam Santiago, who earlier announced that she is willing to run for President in 2016.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGive (Sen.)
