(File <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/HouseofRepsPH\/photos\/a.10150690050162271\/10155355702737271\/?type=3&amp;amp;theater\">Photo<\/a>: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/HouseofRepsPH\/\">House of Representatives of the Philippines\/Facebook<\/a>)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>MANILA<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 President Rodrigo Duterte will leave to Congress the fate of his administration\u2019s proposed amendments to the 1987 Constitution, Malaca\u00f1ang said on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>In an interview with CNN Philippines, Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo said the executive branch would let the legislators exercise their independence with regard to proposals to revise the Constitution.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>Ay hindi natin alam &#8216;yan<\/em>\u00a0(We do not know that yet),\u201d Panelo said when quizzed if the Palace thinks that the plan to craft a new charter is still doable under Duterte\u2019s watch.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>Depende &#8216;yun sa mga miyembro ng Kongreso. Hindi naman nakikialam ang Presidente diyan<\/em>\u00a0(That depends on the members of Congress. The President does not interfere),\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>His statement came after the House committee on constitutional amendments voted on Wednesday in favor of the proposals to amend the 1987 Constitution.<\/p>\n<p>Cagayan de Oro City Rep.
