(Presidential file photo)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>MANILA<\/strong>\u00a0&#8212; The Philippine Army (PA) on Monday joined the rest of the country in commemorating the 2019 National Human Rights Consciousness Week (NHRCW).<\/p>\n<p>Newly-appointed Army chief, Lt. Gen. Gilbert I. Gapay, led the activity which was conducted in line with Republic Act No. 9201, also known as the \u201cNational Human Rights Consciousness Week Act of 2002\u201d, aimed at bringing awareness to the people of \u201ctheir basic human rights in relation to the functions and services offered by these government instrumentalities\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The PA, along with the implementation of its institutional transformation, is strictly adhering to the Rule of Law, the International Humanitarian Law, as well as other related laws and policies that promote and advocate respect for human rights, Army spokesperson, Lt. Col. Ramon Zagala said.<\/p>\n<p>As a result, the Army obtained a Net Trust Rating of +79 and a Net Satisfaction Rating of +75 in 2018.
