(File <a href=\"http:\/\/malacanang.gov.ph\/\">Photo: Malaca\u00f1ang\/Website<\/a>)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>MANILA<\/strong>\u00a0&#8212; All gaming firms are required to pay their taxes and Philippine offshore gaming operators (POGOs) are no exception, Malaca\u00f1ang said on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo made this comment after President Rodrigo Duterte on Friday imposed a three-day deadline for delinquent POGOs to settle their tax liabilities or face sanctions.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cAlam naman ng Tsina kung anong<\/em>\u00a0legal.\u00a0<em>Kung ano ang<\/em>\u00a0legal<em>, \u2018yun na \u2018yun. Kailangan sundin natin lahat<\/em>\u00a0(China knows what\u2019s legal. What\u2019s legal, that\u2019s it. We all need to comply with it),\u201d Panelo said in an interview over dzIQ.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cDi naman pu-puwede meron tayong<\/em>\u00a0exception.\u00a0<em>Kung kailangan nila magbayad ng buwis, kailangan nila magbayad ng buwis<\/em>\u00a0(There are no exceptions. If they need to settle their taxes, they should settle their taxes),\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Panelo, meanwhile, said Duterte had no fears over upsetting China by releasing his order to go after delinquent POGOs.<\/p>\n<p>In an exclusive interview with CNN Philippines on Friday, Duterte warned that POGOs, which mostly employ Chinese nationals that would snub his order would face sanctions.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;They are now ordered to register sa BIR at kumuha ng tag number. Now, I&#8217;m telling them, POGOs &#8212;\u00a0<em>hindi lang it<\/em>o Chinese but Filipino, Filipino-Chinese &#8212; you better settle that utang (They are now ordered to register with the Bureau of Internal Revenue and get a tag number. Now, I&#8217;m telling them, POGOs &#8212; these are not only Chinese but also Filipino, Filipino-Chinese &#8212; you better settle those tax liabilities),&#8221; Duterte said.<\/p>\n<p>Duterte said he would not tolerate POGOs&#8217; failure to pay proper taxes to the government.<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;Sinasabi ko na sa inyo, huwag ninyong lokohin ang Pilipino kasi ang Pilipino hindi luko-luko &#8216;ya<\/em>n (I am telling you.
