Faxes state that someone from the company will pick them up in person. This is a scam.<\/p>\n<p>The Bureau advises anyone who receives such communications to:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>avoid responding; and<\/li>\n<li>report it to the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.antifraudcentre.ca\/reportincident-signalerincident\/index-eng.htm\">Canadian Anti-Fraud Center<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Reporting scams, provides law enforcement with the information they need to stop fraudsters and help prevent others from becoming victims.<\/p>\n<p>If you receive information from the Government of Canada that seems suspicious, you can always contact the department or agency concerned to verify the information received, or contact 1 800 O-Canada (1-800-622-6232).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<h2>Quick facts<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>The Competition Bureau does not issue product recalls.<\/li>\n<li>The Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre estimates that less than five per cent of all fraud victims report their experiences to law enforcement agencies.<\/li>\n<li>Fraudulent or suspicious activity can be reported to the Canadian\u00a0Anti-Fraud\u00a0Centre, through its\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.antifraudcentre.ca\/\">website<\/a>, or by telephone at\u00a01-888-495-8501.<\/li>\n<li>Suspected cases of misleading or deceptive marketing can be reported to the Competition Bureau using the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.competitionbureau.gc.ca\/eic\/site\/cb-bc.nsf\/frm-eng\/GH%C3%89T-7TDNA5\">online complaint form<\/a>\u00a0or by telephone at\u00a01-800-348-5358.<\/li>\n<li>Victims of fraud should also inform their local police force.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Fraudsters are masking their phone number with others.
