(File <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/tricitieslip\/photos\/a.1313504965426841\/1359574784153192\/?type=1&amp;theater\">Photo<\/a>: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/tricitieslip\/\">Tri-Cities Local Immigration Partnership\/Facebook<\/a>)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\">November 18, 2019 \u2013 Coquitlam, BC \u2013 Organized by the Tri-Cities Local Immigration Partnership (TCLIP), which is led by S.U.C.C.E.S.S. and in collaboration with several service providers and organizations, the Tri-Cities Newcomer Employment Week (NEW) returns this year from November 18-22 with a focus on workplace culture.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\">The goal of Tri-Cities NEW is to support newcomers in their employment goals by creating networking opportunities among immigrants, service providers and employers. With this year\u2019s theme on the importance of workplace culture, newcomer jobseekers will receive the opportunity to learn about the key role workplace culture has in the recruitment and retention of employees.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\">\u201cAs the leading agency of the Tri-Cities Local Immigration Partnership, S.U.C.C.E.S.S. along with our TCLIP partners are pleased to be bringing this event back for newcomers,\u201d said Queenie Choo, CEO of S.U.C.C.E.S.S. \u201cBy providing access and showcasing the availability of resources and opportunities for jobseekers, we hope to reduce the barriers that many new immigrants may face in achieving their employment goals.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\">Tri-Cities NEW\u2019s first-day welcome event featured a keynote speech from Maylen Crespo who immigrated to Canada in 2002 and is the Community Lead Manager with the Family Services of Greater Vancouver; an employer panel with representatives from small to large business, government and non-profit employers; a networking workshop; a speed-networking activity and a resume clinic and resource fair.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\">The rest of the week will be dedicated to workplace tours for jobseekers to learn more about a particular organization, their workplace culture and the recruiting process.
