(Supplied Photo)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Vancouver, BC \u2013 The annual Chinatown Community Remembrance Day Ceremony took place at the Chinatown Memorial Square in Vancouver this\u00a0afternoon, honouring the\u00a0many sacrifices and contributions made to Canadian society by Chinese-Canadian veterans as well as Chinese-Canadian pioneers.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWe honour both our Chinese-Canadian, as well as all of our veterans, for their sacrifices so that we can enjoy the freedoms\u00a0we have today,\u201d said Terry Yung, Board Chair of S.U.C.C.E.S.S.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cS.U.C.C.E.S.S. is pleased to be a part of such a meaningful tradition, and we take\u00a0great pride in co-organizing this event in conjunction with our neighbouring Chinatown associations,\u201d added Queenie Choo, CEO of S.U.C.C.E.S.S.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The ceremony was attended by numerous government representatives, including Senator Yonah Martin, The Honourable Jody Wilson-Raybould, The Honourable Hedy Fry, The Honourable Harjit Sajjan, MPs Alice Wong, Jenny Kwan and Don Davies, Minister of State for Trade George Chow, Minister of Advanced Education, Skills and Training Melanie Mark, Minister of Social Development and Poverty Reduction Shane Simpson, MLAs Sam Sullivan, John Yap, Anne Kang, Teresa Wat, George Heyman and Michael Lee, Vancouver Mayor Kennedy Stewart and Vancouver City Councillors Adriane Carr, Jean Swanson, Pete Fry and Sarah Kirby-Yung.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The event included recitals of \u201cThis Was My Brother\u201d and \u201cThe Poppy Reminds Me,\u201d as well as a keynote address from Jun Ing, Vice-President of the Chinese Benevolent Association of Vancouver, a co-organizer of the event.
