Charlottetown, PE<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\u2013<\/strong>\u00a0The Honourable Lawrence MacAulay, Minister for Veterans Affairs and Associate Minister of National Defence invites you to attend an Open House Daniel J. MacDonald Building\u2019s atrium, following the Remembrance Day ceremony at the Charlottetown Cenotaph.<\/p>\n

Come browse displays of uniforms worn by those who served over the years as well as oil paintings, replicas of monuments and historical flags. Catch a glimpse of the work Veterans Affairs Canada does to serve and commemorate Canada\u2019s Veterans and fallen heroes.<\/p>\n

This Veterans\u2019 Week (November\u00a05-11), the Government of Canada invites Canadians to join in honouring and remembering those who have served Canada \u2014 and continue to serve \u2014 in times of war, military conflict and peace. 2019 marks the 75th<\/sup>\u00a0anniversaries of the Italian Campaign, D\u2011Day and the Battle of Normandy, and the Battle of the Scheldt during the Second World War, as well as the 5th<\/sup>\u00a0anniversary of the end of Canada\u2019s Mission in Afghanistan.<\/p>\n

Canadians are encouraged to explore the stories of those who served and sacrificed for our country through our\u00a0Faces of Freedom<\/a><\/em>\u00a0campaign. Share your thoughts, photos or special memories of your loved ones on social media and join the conversation using the hashtags\u00a0#CanadaRemembers<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0#Italy75<\/strong>\u00a0or visit\u00a0canada.ca\/canadaremembers<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n
