(Shutterstock Photo)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>On November 4, 2019\u00a0,\u00a0at about\u00a09:00 a.m.\u00a0,\u00a0a lockdown was put in place in the\u00a0medium- security unit at Beaver Creek Institution to\u00a0allow staff to conduct a search of the institution following an inmate assault.<\/p>\n<p>The search was ordered in the\u00a0medium-security unit\u00a0to ensure the safety and security of the institution, its staff and inmates. Visits have been suspended until the search is completed. Visitors who have already planned a visit are asked to contact the institution directly.<\/p>\n<p>The safety and security of the institutions is the Correctional Service of Canada&#8217;s (CSC) primary concern. Normal operations will resume as soon as it is considered safe to do so.<\/p>\n<p>CSC is committed to preventing the entry of contraband into its institutions. Our efforts help to ensure a safe and secure environment for everyone.
