Leonor G. Robredo as among those who will lead the government&#8217;s anti-illegal drugs drive.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The DOJ is an active member of the ICAD and is the lead agency in the committee&#8217;s justice cluster. It welcomes the inclusion of the (Vice President) in the ICAD and hopes that she will inject fresh and constructive insights into the government&#8217;s anti-illegal drug campaign,&#8221; Justice Secretary Guevarra told reporters.<\/p>\n<p>In a memorandum dated October 31 and released on Tuesday, President Rodrigo Duterte designated Robredo as co-chairperson of the Inter-Agency Committee on Anti-Illegal Drugs (ICAD) until June 30, 2022.<\/p>\n<p>The ICAD was formed under Executive Order 15 in March 2017 and is chaired by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.<\/p>\n<p>Among its functions is to ensure the effective conduct of anti-illegal drug operations and arrest of high-value drug personalities down to the street level peddlers and users.<\/p>\n<p>It also spearheads and coordinates the implementation of the five-year National Anti-Drug Plan of Action, ensures the comprehensive implementation of the Barangay Drug-Clearing Program as well as ensures the conduct of advocacy campaign initiatives.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>MANILA\u00a0&#8212; The Department of Justice (DOJ) on Tuesday welcomed the appointment of Vice President Ma.
