(<a href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/husseinabdallah\/2076445779\/in\/photolist-4aujZi-71q2a3-4cgzYZ-4cknGU-aycwew-cxzNoo-4ckNC7-eSGop7-6CT4xD-4cgRwZ-4we6wd-6CSYz4-7KGYty-7P29YJ-cpoLH7-cppfhu-cpphTs-8pVVxL-cppfW9-cppdn3-cppcJS-cppmWW-cppoem-cpphgS-bvwYyd-eSGpB1-5pjnXL-5j3nnY-8874k4-4g1pAK-6GdzX9-8dB331-5j3n5d-9t8Dvq-81tE56-8WBtcB-cppjib-cbNoSW-cppgyW-cppeDu-cppmnC-cpoNYb-7NQBrD-2h88ra7-2h896nF-ZRXmS6-8dB2EC-8icxsW-99PN4x-543tCK\">File Photo<\/a>: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/husseinabdallah\/\">abdallahh\/Flickr<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/creativecommons.org\/licenses\/by-sa\/2.0\/\">CC BY-SA 2.0<\/a>)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Quebec\u2019s Immigration Ministry published its updated Area of Training List on Friday, November 1.<span id=\"more-13093\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.immigration-quebec.gouv.qc.ca\/publications\/fr\/divers\/liste-formation.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">new list<\/a>\u00a0replaces the previous Area of Training List that was published August 2, 2018, and the ministry said the updated version applies to all applications submitted before or after November 1.<\/p>\n<p>The list is used by the Government of Quebec to determine eligibility to the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/quebec-experience-class-canadian-immigration.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Quebec Experience Program (PEQ)<\/a>\u00a0and to assign points when determining who receives a Quebec Selection Certificate (Certificat de s\u00e9lection du Qu\u00e9bec, or CSQ).<\/p>\n<p>A CSQ is required in order to immigrate to Quebec as a permanent resident.<\/p>\n<p>Quebec revises the list periodically to reflect its economic and employment needs.<\/p>\n<p>The document is divided into five sections (A to E), with areas of training listed in Section A considered the most in-demand.<\/p>\n<h3>Quebec Skilled Worker Program selection<\/h3>\n<p>Area of Training is one of the 10 factors that are considered under the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/quebec-skilled-worker-immigration.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">points grid<\/a>\u00a0for the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/quebec-skilled-worker-immigration.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Quebec Skilled Worker Program<\/a>\u00a0(QSWP), which is the province\u2019s most popular immigration pathway.<\/p>\n<p>Points are awarded for specified foreign and Quebec university, college and secondary-level vocational degrees based on the level of employer demand in Quebec, with those listed under Section A worth 12 points.<\/p>\n<p>Area of training is one of the factors that Quebec considers when determining who it invites to apply for a selection certificate through the QSWP and also plays a role in who is ultimately selected for permanent residence in the province.<\/p>\n<h3>Area of Training and updated PEQ eligibility<\/h3>\n<p>Updated criteria for the Quebec Experience Program published this week require all candidates to have a degree or diploma in an eligible area of training.<\/p>\n<p>Eligible areas of training are those under Part II of Sections A and B of the list.<\/p>\n<p>The revised criteria took effect on November 1.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Quebec\u2019s Immigration Ministry published its updated Area of Training List on Friday, November 1.
