Commissioner of Competition Matthew Boswell and his counterparts discussed recent cases, as well as their ongoing priorities \u2013 with a focus on competition law enforcement and advocacy in the digital economy.<\/p>\n<p>Today\u2019s digital and data-driven economy continues to transcend borders. To foster competitive and innovative digital marketplaces, it is essential for competition agencies to collaborate on enforcement and advocacy matters and to share best practices.<\/p>\n<p>Building and maintaining strong partnerships improves the Bureau&#8217;s ability to deliver results for Canadians. By investing in its relationships with competition agencies and other law enforcement bodies, the Bureau can strengthen its ability to protect Canada&#8217;s competitive marketplace, address cross-border anti-competitive activity, and promote convergence on competition policies internationally.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<h2>Quick facts<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>The Bureau has\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.competitionbureau.gc.ca\/eic\/site\/cb-bc.nsf\/eng\/03763.html#tab2\">cooperation instruments<\/a>\u00a0in place with 16 jurisdictions: Mexico, the U.S., Australia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, the European Union, Hong Kong, India, Japan, New Zealand, the People\u2019s Republic of China, Peru, the Republic of Korea, Singapore and Taiwan.<\/li>\n<li>To enhance cross-border enforcement and promote sound competition policies internationally, the Bureau and its North American partners also participate in many fora, such as the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.internationalcompetitionnetwork.org\/\">International Competition Network<\/a>, the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.oecd.org\/competition\/\">Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development\u2019s Competition Committee<\/a>\u00a0and the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.icpen.org\/protecting-consumers-worldwide\">International Consumer Protection and Enforcement Network<\/a>\u00a0(ICPEN).<\/li>\n<li>The Bureau will be President of ICPEN from July 1, 2020 to June 30, 2021.
