(<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/martinmandanar\/photos\/a.661042577245807\/2824245357592174\/?type=3&amp;theater\">File Photo<\/a>: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/martinmandanar\/\">Martin Andanar\/Facebook<\/a>)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>MANILA<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO)Secretary Martin Andanar on Friday viewed China\u2019s donation of broadcast equipment to the Philippines as a \u201chuge boost\u201d to state-owned regional radio stations.<\/p>\n<p>Andanar\u2019s statement came after he and Chinese Vice Minister Wang Shouwen signed and exchanged certificates on the Philippine Radio Equipment Project on Thursday at Ayuntamiento de Manila in Intramuros, Manila.<\/p>\n<p>The certificates provide for the Chinese donation of broadcasting equipment to the PCOO\u2019s Philippine Broadcasting Service (PBS).<\/p>\n<p>The donation, which includes live broadcast room equipment, FM broadcast transmitter equipment, and medium wave transmitter equipment, will be used by government-run radio stations in Davao City, Cagayan de Oro City, Bataan, and Cebu City, Andanar said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese (pieces of) equipment will be used to renovate our radio stations in Davao City, Cagayan De Oro, Bataan, Cebu City. These will be a huge boost to our radio operations in the entire Philippines,\u201d the Communications chief said.<\/p>\n<p>The Communications Secretary also thanked Chinese Ambassador to the Philippines Zhao Jianhua for facilitating the donation.<\/p>\n<p>Andanar said the donation proves a \u201cvery healthy\u201d relations between the two nations in the field of communications.<\/p>\n<p>He also took note of the improving media exchanges between Manila and Beijing.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe relationship between the Philippines and China in the field of communications is very healthy.
