(PCOO File Photo)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>MANILA<\/strong>\u00a0&#8212; The number of Filipino workers, who died after their fishing vessel was hit by a collapsed bridge in Taiwan, has climbed to three.<\/p>\n<p>This, after the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) confirmed that the body of the third victim earlier reported missing has been found.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe lifeless body of (Filipino) fisherman Romulo Escalicas Jr. was found at 11:28 am today (Thursday, Oct. 3), bringing a total of 3 Filipino fishermen dead in the incident,\u201d Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>The two other fatalities in the incident were earlier identified as Andree Abregana Serencio and Gorge Jagmis Impang.<\/p>\n<p>The government has assured that the families of the victims will be provided assistance, including financial and scholarship benefits.<\/p>\n<p>Five other Filipinos identified as Julio S. Gimawa, Jason N. Villaruel, Allan H. Alcansano, John Vicente Royo and June B. Flores were injured.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the Catholic Bishops\u2019 Conference of the Philippines \u2013 Episcopal Commission on Migrants and Itinerant People (CBCP-ECMI) on Thursday expressed sympathy to the families of the Filipino workers who perished in the incident.<\/p>\n<p>CBCP-ECMI chairman Bishop Ruperto Santos has offered prayers to the victims and also to the families they left behind.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe condole with the bereaved families.
