Sec. Edgar Galvante, said since the inauguration of the new plate-making facility, anyone who can read and understand instructions is capable of working in the new facility.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cMay kapansanan pero sa process namin may maitutulong sila,\u00a0<\/em>open<em>\u00a0kami doon. Katulad sa\u00a0<\/em>plate-making<em>, hindi mo kailangan magsalita ka\u2014nakakabasa ka, nakakaintindi ka\u2014&#8217;yung mga<\/em>\u00a0instruction\u00a0<em>nababasa mo naman at magagawa mo naman<\/em>\u00a0(Has a disability but is capable of helping in our process, we\u2019re open to those. Like in plate-making, you don\u2019t need to speak\u2014you can read, understand\u2014read the instructions and do them),\u201d Galvante said.<\/p>\n<p>They have hired four PWDs to date, one of which is quality assurance inspector, Edwin Sherwin Milanes.<\/p>\n<p>As an amputee, Milanes has been hired by the LTO as inspector of license plates released by the facility.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cKami &#8216;yung nagche<\/em>-check\u00a0<em>ng plaka, kung tama ba &#8216;yung nasa\u00a0<\/em>QR code<em>\u00a0niya, kung &#8216;yung plaka ba ay maayos, walang gasgas, tapos kung &#8216;yung<\/em>\u00a0RFID\u00a0<em>niya<\/em>\u00a0match\u00a0<em>ba sa plaka<\/em>\u00a0(We are those who check the license plates, if the QR code is correct, if the plate is proper, no scratches, and its RFID matches the plate),\u201d Milanes said.<\/p>\n<p>One of his co-workers is Maricar Perez, who is capable of speaking through sign language, is one of the facility\u2019s hot foil machine operators.<\/p>\n<p>She said that through her work, she has since learned to be responsible as a government worker and now happy for being able to provide for her family.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am happy because I can help in supporting my family.
