MANILA<\/strong>\u00a0— Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte and US President Donald Trump have a \u201cmutual admiration\u201d for each other, Malaca\u00f1ang said on Thursday.<\/p>\n

Panelo said the two leaders had the same leadership \u201cstyle\u201d which is why they share respect for each other.<\/p>\n

In a Sept. 25 tweet, Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro \u201cTeddyboy\u201d Locsin Jr. said Trump conveyed his regards to Duterte whom he called \u201cFrank Sinatra.\u201d<\/p>\n

The US President recalled Duterte\u2019s rendition of\u00a0\u201cIkaw<\/em>\u201d during Manila\u2019s hosting of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) Summit in 2017.<\/p>\n

\u201cAt photoshoot with Pres. Trump and First Lady Melania, I shook his hand, he looked straight at me and said, \u2018Say Hi to Frank Sinatra. Me stunned: \u2018I admire you so much.\u2019 He: \u2018You know who I mean\u201d\u2019 \u2018Uh.\u2019 I remembered–Duterte joined Pilita Corales in a song at Asean.<\/p>\n

Duterte was elected into office in June 2016 while Trump was elected in December 2016.<\/p>\n
