(Pixabay Photo)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Skilled foreign workers and international graduates were the focus of Manitoba\u2019s most recent Expression of Interest draw.\u00a0<span id=\"more-12779\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Details of the August 15 draw, which were published only recently, show the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) issued a total of 360 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) for a provincial nomination for Canadian permanent residence through its\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/manitoba-skilled-worker-immigration-stream.html#SkilledWorkerinManitobaCategory\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Skilled Worker in Manitoba<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/manitoba-skilled-worker-immigration-stream.html#SkilledWorkerOverseasCategory\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Skilled Worker Overseas<\/a>pathways and the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/manitoba-international-education-stream.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">International Education Stream<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Of the 360 LAAs issued, 32 went to candidates with a profile in the federal\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/express-entry.html\">Express Entry system<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The MPNP allows Manitoba to nominate eligible foreign nationals for Canadian permanent residence who have skills required by local employers.<\/p>\n<p>Last year saw the MPNP issue a record 5,207 nominations, with 98 per cent going to candidates in its two skilled worker categories.<\/p>\n<h3>Skilled Worker in Manitoba<\/h3>\n<p>A total of 241 LAAs went to candidates in the\u00a0Skilled Worker in Manitoba\u00a0category, which provides a pathway to permanent residence for qualified temporary foreign workers and international student graduates who are working in Manitoba and have been offered a permanent position with an eligible employer.<\/p>\n<p>Skilled Worker in Manitoba candidates must register an expression of interest profile online and provide information on their education, work experience and proficiency in English or French, among other details. The profiles of eligible candidates are given a score out of 1,000 and placed in the Manitoba Expression of Interest (EOI) pool.<\/p>\n<p>The lowest-ranked candidate invited through the Skilled Worker in Manitoba Stream had a score of 542.<\/p>\n<h3>Skilled Worker Overseas<\/h3>\n<p>A total of 83 candidates in the\u00a0Skilled Worker Overseas\u00a0category were also invited in the latest draw.<\/p>\n<p>Skilled Worker Overseas candidates issued LAAs in this draw were invited under a Strategic Recruitment Initiative, which include overseas recruitment missions organized by the MPNP in association with Manitoba employers.<\/p>\n<p>Like the Skilled Worker in Manitoba category, Skilled Worker Overseas candidates must complete an Expression of Interest and meet the stream\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/manitoba-skilled-worker-immigration-stream.html#SkilledWorkerOverseasCategory\">minimum requirements<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The lowest-scoring Skilled Worker Overseas candidate in this draw had an EOI score of 685.<\/p>\n<p>Candidates in the federal Express Entry system who were invited were required to have\u00a0a valid Express Entry ID and job seeker validation code along with verifiable experience in an occupation on Manitoba\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/manitoba-skilled-worker-immigration-stream.html#indemand\">In-demand Occupations List<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>International Education Stream<\/h3>\n<p>The\u00a0International Education Stream\u00a0(IES) is for Manitoba graduates who fit the province\u2019s labour market needs.<\/p>\n<p>There are three subcategories in this stream: Career Employment Pathway, Graduate Internship Pathway, and the Student Entrepreneur Pathway.<\/p>\n<p>The MPNP issued 36 LAAs to International Education Stream candidates in the August 15 draw.<\/p>\n<p>Manitoba has now issued a total of 5,810 invitations so far this year in 16 EOI draws.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a9 2019 CICNews All Rights Reserved<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Skilled foreign workers and international graduates were the focus of Manitoba\u2019s most recent Expression of Interest draw.\u00a0 Details of the &hellip;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":33,"featured_media":230754,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[6],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-230752","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-immigration","mauthors-cic-news"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/230752","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/33"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=230752"}],"version-history":[{"count":1,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/230752\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":230756,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/230752\/revisions\/230756"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/230754"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=230752"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=230752"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=230752"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
