(PNA file Photo)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>MANILA<\/strong>\u00a0&#8212; More than 4,000 overseas Filipino workers were hired through government-to-government negotiations with countries the Philippines has labor agreements with, the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) announced on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement, the POEA said its Government Placement Branch has facilitated the deployment of over 4,000 OFWs from January to July this year.<\/p>\n<p>The Filipinos were hired as health workers in Japan, Saudi Arabia, and Germany while factory workers in South Korea, according to POEA.<\/p>\n<p>A total of 330 nurses and caregivers were sent to their assigned hospitals and nursing homes under the Japan-Philippine Economic Partnership Agreement (JPEPA) after completing a six-month preparatory Japanese language training in the Philippines.<\/p>\n<p>The workers will continue intensive study of the language for another six months in Japan.<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, the Ministry of Health of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has hired 1,188 Filipinos of various skills through the Saudi Recruitment Office.<\/p>\n<p>The OFWs include doctors, dentists, pharmacists, midwives, medical technicians, nurses, and administrative staff.<\/p>\n<p>According to the POEA, the Federal Employment Agency (BA)\/International Placement Agency (ZAV) has employed 150 nurses to work in hospitals and nursing homes in Germany under the Triple Win Program.<\/p>\n<p>A total of 2,728 applicants were accepted and deployed to Korea as factory workers under the Employment Permit System.<\/p>\n<p>The agency said that a factory worker in the host country can earn as much USD1,200 (PHP60,000) every month.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>MANILA\u00a0&#8212; More than 4,000 overseas Filipino workers were hired through government-to-government negotiations with countries the Philippines has labor agreements with, &hellip;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":33,"featured_media":178918,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[16,95],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-230181","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-news","category-news-ph","mauthors-ferdinand-patinio","mauthors-philippine-news-agency"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/230181","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/33"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=230181"}],"version-history":[{"count":1,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/230181\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":230186,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/230181\/revisions\/230186"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/178918"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=230181"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=230181"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=230181"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
