(<a href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/spacing\/2670594348\/in\/photostream\/\">File Photo<\/a>: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/spacing\/\">Spacing Magazine\/Flickr<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/creativecommons.org\/licenses\/by-nc-nd\/2.0\/\">CC BY-NC-ND 2.0<\/a>)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Nova Scotia held its first Labour Market Priorities draw in three months on September 4, inviting 204 Express Entry candidates to apply for a provincial nomination for Canadian permanent residence.\u00a0<span id=\"more-12735\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/nova-scotia-express-entry-labour-market-priorities.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Labour Market Priorities Stream<\/a>\u00a0allows the Nova Scotia Nominee Program (NSNP) to search Canada\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/express-entry.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Express Entry pool<\/a>\u00a0for eligible candidates who match identified labour market needs in the province.<\/p>\n<p>Since its launch in 2018, the stream has invited early childhood education workers, financial auditors and accountants, and French-speaking Express Entry candidates.<\/p>\n<p>This latest draw targeted Express Entry candidates who had selected French as their first official language and have a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/canadian-language-benchmark-clb-descriptions.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Canadian Language Benchmark<\/a>\u00a0(CLB) score of 8 or higher in French in all language abilities (reading, writing, listening and speaking).<\/p>\n<p>Selected candidates also had to have a CLB score of at least 6 or higher in English in all four language abilities and either a bachelor\u2019s degree or a completed program of three years or more at a university, college, trade or technical school.<\/p>\n<p>A spokesperson for the NSNP said there was no minimum\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/express-entry-comprehensive-ranking-system.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Comprehensive Ranking System<\/a>\u00a0(CRS) score requirement.<\/p>\n<p>A CRS score determines a candidate\u2019s rank in the Express Entry pool and is based on factors such as age, education, skilled work experience and proficiency in English or French, among others.<\/p>\n<p>Express Entry candidates with a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/provincial-nomination-program.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">provincial nomination<\/a>\u00a0receive an additional 600 points toward their CRS score, effectively guaranteeing an invitation to apply for Canadian permanent residence.<\/p>\n<p>Candidates who received a Letter of Invitation in today\u2019s draw now have 30 calendar days to submit a complete application to the NSNP.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a9 2019 CICNews All Rights Reserved<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Nova Scotia held its first Labour Market Priorities draw in three months on September 4, inviting 204 Express Entry candidates &hellip;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":33,"featured_media":229446,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[6],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-229445","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-immigration","mauthors-cic-news"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/229445","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/33"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=229445"}],"version-history":[{"count":1,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/229445\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":229447,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/229445\/revisions\/229447"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/229446"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=229445"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=229445"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=229445"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
