MANILA<\/strong>\u00a0— President Rodrigo Duterte on Tuesday night lambasted Iceland for legalizing abortion but expressed concern in ensuring the human rights of drug syndicates.<\/p>\n

Duterte said he hoped that Iceland, which recently sponsored a resolution at the United Nation Human Rights Council (UNHRC) to look into the government\u2019s anti-illegal drug campaign would \u201cfreeze in time\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cIceland allows the slaughter of the fetus inside the womb of the mother up to six months.\u00a0P***** i** nila.<\/em>\u00a0They worry more of the drug lords\u00a0at itong mga<\/em>\u00a0(and these) who are pushing drugs, killing our citizens, and creating a social dysfunction in almost all\u00a0tinamaan<\/em>\u00a0(being affected),\u201d Duterte said, during the 31st anniversary celebration of the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP) at the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) main office in Quezon City.<\/p>\n

Duterte said that although he supported several family-planning methods, including contraception after seeing how poor Filipinos have suffered, he will not allow an abortion policy in the country.<\/p>\n

\u201cOf course, abortion is out of the question. I will not allow it. Just like\u00a0itong<\/em>\u00a0(this) Iceland who initiated that signature campaign to condemn us\u00a0sa<\/em>\u00a0(when it comes to) extrajudicial killing,\u201d Duterte said.<\/p>\n

Duterte described Iceland\u2019s policy of allowing abortion as \u201cshameless\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou allow an innocent human being already thriving and living inside the mother\u2019s body.\u00a0Pagkawalang hiya itong mga puti talaga<\/em>\u00a0(These white people are shameless),\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Iceland currently allows for an abortion until the end of the 22nd week of pregnancy.<\/p>\n

Duterte also pointed out how Iceland failed to see how several civilians get killed every day because of the illegal drug trade.<\/p>\n

\u201cHindi nila naintindihan, \u2018yung mga g***** \u2018yan. Kaya itong mga Iceland, palibhasa ice ang kain, wala namang tubig \u2018yan eh.
