(<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/senateph\/photos\/a.981337428557205.1073741829.749071305117153\/1779791752045098\/?type=3&amp;amp;theater\">Photo<\/a>: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/senateph\/\">Senate of the Philippines\/Facebook<\/a>)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>MANILA<\/strong>\u00a0&#8212; Malaca\u00f1ang said it will leave to the court to decide on detained Senator Leila de Lima\u2019s request to visit her ailing 86-year-old mother in Camarines Sur.<\/p>\n<p>Presidential Spokesperson and Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Salvador Panelo said President Rodrigo Duterte has never meddled with cases that are already pending in the courts.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe President does not interfere with any case involving anybody,\u201d Panelo told reporters in a media interview on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>Panelo, however, refrained from commenting on the remark made by Department of Justice (DOJ) Secretary Menardo Guevarra that he would not object to the senator\u2019s request for humanitarian reasons.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAyaw namin mag-comment diyan. Ang problema kasi pag nag-comment ka diyan baka misinterpreted (We don\u2019t want to comment on that.
