whether they\u2019ve registered an Expression of Interest with the province or not.<span id=\"more-12562\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>In an update published Friday, July 26, the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/new-brunswick-provincial-nominee-program.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program<\/a>\u00a0(NBPNP) said it \u201cwill, on occasion, invite candidates directly from the federal Express Entry pool in response to provincial labour-market needs.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/express-entry.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Express Entry pool<\/a>\u00a0contains the profiles of candidates for three of Canada\u2019s main economic-class immigration programs \u2014 the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/federal-skilled-worker-program-fswp.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Federal Skilled Worker Class<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/canada-federal-skilled-trades-program-fstc.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Federal Skilled Trades Class<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/canadian-experience-class.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Canadian Experience Class<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Candidates are ranked in the pool based on\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/express-entry-comprehensive-ranking-system.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">a score<\/a>\u00a0linked to their age, education, skilled work experience and proficiency in English or French, among other factors.<\/p>\n<p>A provincial nomination results in an additional 600 points and effectively guarantees an invitation to apply for Canadian permanent residence.<\/p>\n<p>Several popular Express Entry-linked nomination streams in the provinces of Ontario, Alberta and Nova Scotia employ targeted searches of the federal Express Entry pool, including Ontario\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/ontario-express-entry-human-capital-priorities-stream.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Human Capital Priorities Stream,<\/a>\u00a0the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/alberta-express-entry-stream.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Alberta Express Entry Stream<\/a>\u00a0and Nova Scotia\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/alberta-express-entry-stream.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Labour Market Priorities Stream.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Express Entry candidates selected through New Brunswick\u2019s occasional searches will receive a Letter of Interest in their Express Entry accounts.<\/p>\n<p>All candidates who receive an invitation to apply from New Brunswick in this manner will still have to meet the eligibility requirements for the NBPNP\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/new-brunswick-express-entry-labour-market-stream.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Express Entry Labour Market Stream<\/a>\u00a0(EELMS).<\/p>\n<p>New Brunswick will use this new approach in addition to the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/new-brunswick-express-entry-labour-market-stream.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Expression of Interest<\/a>\u00a0(EOI)-based invitations issued through the EELMS.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNew Brunswick needs skilled foreign workers so it\u2019s not surprising to see it exploring new ways to invite Express Entry candidates,\u201d said David Cohen, senior partner with the Campbell, Cohen Canadian immigration law firm in Montreal.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith more provinces now searching the Express Entry pool for eligible candidates, it\u2019s a good reminder to get in the pool if you aren\u2019t
