This heat is just intolerable when you\u2019re in the city.&#8221; (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/Bwv0jfIjo7r\/\">Photo<\/a>: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/lo_young\/\">@lo_young<\/a>\/<a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\">Instagram<\/a>)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Twenty-five-year-old Kapuso actress Lauren Young takes to her 1.01 million Twitter followers last Monday, July 15 to share her encounter with an \u201cOnly for Chinese Customer\u201d restaurant during her recent trip to Subic.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the post, that has since reached more than 5,700 likes, as of writing, Lauren asks \u201cIs this even legal?\u201d sharing that her favorite restaurant in Subic was sold and a sign that says \u201cOnly for Chinese customer\u201d is now put up. She elaborates, \u201cI really want to know if business owners are allowed to do this,\u201d adding, \u201cIf I had a restaurant, am I allowed to put up these signs, for example: \u2018Only for dog customers\u2019 or \u2018Only for Filipino customers.\u2019 Let me know.\u201d She also provides two images of the signage.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One of Lauren\u2019s followers called the attention of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on the matter, which the DTI responded stating to \u201clodge the concern to the Consumer Protection and Advocacy Bureau.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When another user asked about the legality of the restaurant to operate, @rfWhley on Twitter responded, revealing, \u201cEveryone should know, I\u2019m friends with the Korean owners and they just recently leased the business to the Chinese and were completely unaware of the sign until I showed them the pictures. Something will be done about it soon. This is technically not Hana,\u201d referring to the previous restaurant in its place. A day after the actress\u2019 post, the restaurant has a new sign that reads, \u201cCorrection! We also serve Chinese food.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This controversy comes two months after the DTI ordered the shutdown of a Chinese food park in Las Pi\u00f1as for having illegal documents.
