ALFRED FRIAS\/PRESIDENTIAL PHOTO<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>MANILA<\/strong>\u00a0&#8212; President Rodrigo Duterte has yet to accept the courtesy resignation tendered by Agriculture Secretary Emmanuel Pi\u00f1ol last week, Malaca\u00f1ang said on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo said Pi\u00f1ol is still expected to attend and participate in the scheduled Cabinet meeting on Monday afternoon.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe President has not yet accepted his (Pi\u00f1ol) resignation. Courtesy resignation lang naman \u2018yun (It\u2019s just a courtesy resignation),\u201d Panelo said in a Palace briefing.<\/p>\n<p>Panelo said Duterte wanted to speak first to Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) interim Chief Minister Al-Hajj Murad Ebrahim before deciding whether or not he will accept Pi\u00f1ol\u2019s resignation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDi ba sinabi ni Presidente, \u2018I will ask Mr. Murad kung okay sa kanila\u2019, di ba (Didn\u2019t the President say, \u2018I will first ask Mr. Murad if it\u2019s okay with him)?\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>On June 27, Senator Christopher \u201cBong\u201d Go bared that Pi\u00f1ol has offered to resign following reports that the President is no longer satisfied with his performance.<\/p>\n<p>Pi\u00f1ol resigned \u201cwith the best interest\u201d of his department but at the same time, expressed willingness to be reassigned to whichever agency he will be effective, including the Mindanao Development Authority (MinDa).<\/p>\n<p>In a chance interview the same day, Duterte clarified that he is still trusts the Agriculture chief noting that he has no record of corruption.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe is not corrupt.
